Gatwick to Jeddah return in Dec 2024

The most mediocre flight I’ve ever been on. The food was either okay or not good. The selection was fine. The flight attendants were the least welcoming and most rude, I don’t think I saw any of them smile except one. The woman in the photo was truly unprovoked miserable the entire flight as well as the rest of them. The seats are fine, the movie selection is good. Everything is just underwhelming and miserable. I wouldn’t say no to flying with them again but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to do it. Also both of those flights had the most turbulence I’ve ever experienced

J’ai été agréablement surprise par les services proposés par Saudia Airlines. Dès l’embarquement (en classe économique) on reçoit une petite serviette chaude pour se rafraîchir les mains, accompagnée d’une trousse contenant des chaussettes antidérapantes, un kit avec brosse à dents et dentifrice, ainsi qu’un masque pour dormir. Le personnel était aux petits soins tout au long du vol, toujours attentif et souriant. J’ai beaucoup apprécié la petite prière du voyageur diffusée avant le décollage, qui ajoute une belle touche spirituelle à l’expérience. Le vol s’est déroulé à merveille, et je n’hésiterai pas à voyager à nouveau avec cette compagnie.

Flew LHR to RUH aboard Saudia business class.

First aircraft (777) had very old-fashioned configuration, with 2x2x2 seating rather than the now ubiquitous pods. Seats on this plane were actually comfy though, wider than a pod and still fully reclining. I wouldn’t fancy a window seat though, as you’d be trapped by passenger next door…

Decent food selection - Arabian and western meal choices. No alcohol, obviously, but decent selection of minerals and soft drinks. Arabian coffee on boarding, naturally.

Return aircraft a more modern 777 with classic pods. Very comfortable; slept for 90% of flight. Well done. Didn’t eat this direction, so no comment on that.

Service excellent throughout flight. No concerns.

Came with entitlement to fast track security at Riyadh - excellent benefit. Check-in, security and passport check all expedited; although the lounge isn’t that exciting once through.

Overall experience a positive one. Be careful to check the seat configuration if travelling alone and to avoid those window seats on the older jets.

Me and my family have been flying with Saudi Arabia Airlines since 1995. Every year we have used them and since 1995, we have travelled on 120 flights international and domestic flights. Their level of customer service, professionalism and the care of each passenger is exceptionally amazing. I have mentioned the following 8 main reasons for my 5 star review on this lovely airline.

1 Staff: From the first moment of meet and greet at the airport checking counter to the staff on board the plane have gone beyond the extra mile to help me and my family. Every flight going to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah in the past 27 years and 2 Hajj journeys during that time the staff have always made each of our visits very memorable. The level of care and kindness they had given to my family was exceptional.

2 Menu: The menu was always provided at the start of every flight to my family and myself giving us a selection of 3 to 4 different menu options. The printed menu with description of the selections and with photos of the food was exactly what they had served which was always delicious.

3 Quality of food: I have added the photos of one of my flight’s foods. The presentation was amazing and the quality of food was delicious. From the main course meal to the salads to the deserts and the snacks, the different selections helped me and my family to choose what eat on each flight. Regularly the staff on board also provided hot and cold drinks during the whole flight which was so amazing as some times we became so thirsty or we needed a hot drink is the temperature was cold, they would provide anything we needed to be comfort in.

4 Hygiene: From the seats to the toilets, everything is nicely cleaned and always regularly sanitized and always kept clean for the next passenger. From water, soap, hand lotion, hand sanitizers, toilet rolls to hand towels and fragrance are always provided on the flight which me and my family regularly used.

5 Halal: The menu has always Halal Food items and they are cooked nicely and well prepared. Every flight I have used Saudi Arabia Airlines, they have always had chicken, red meat, fish and vegetarian options plus diabetic meals and children meals.

6 Luggage: Saudi Arabian Airlines have always allowed on most tickets 2 large 23kg luggage and 1 hand luggage which have always been sufficient and more than enough for me and my family. Also, on the return flight they have always allowed for passengers to purchase sealed 5 litter ZAMZAM holy water bottles which we used to always bring back until the pandemic Covid 19 had happened and the flight regulations had changed.

7 Prayer Room: One of the best features me and my family love on Saudi Arabia Airlines is the fact they have dedicated prayer space at the end of the plane where everyone can use to pray their prayers also start their Umrah and Hajj intentions.

On Board First Aide/Doctors: Several of my family members during the 120 flights we used Saudi Arabia Airlines, we needed a first aider and also oxygen which they provided on the plane during the whole flight. The really took care of my family and saved my family members life during the whole flight and they didn’t have to do any emergency landed as they handled everything very professionally and aided my family member. I will never forget the level of care and how amazing all their staff have been towards my family during all those flights.

Recommendation: Always recommend to my friends and family as Saudi Arabia Airlines is one of the best airlines who provide exceptional passenger satisfaction and most of the staff go beyond the extra mile with the level of care they provide.

I wish I could give -5000 rating. I travel via many airlines but travelling Air Saudia was my worst experience. It was my very first time with them, got my baggage broke which messed my stay in saudia and later on my travel from saudia to london because I had really tough time because of broken baggage.

I opened complaint on airport but never heard back. Never recommend this airline because it look like they don’t care at all about customers.

I had the pleasure of flying with Saudi Airlines on the 10th October to Jeddah from Birmingham. I was greeted at the check in desk by Abdul. I explained to him that I was part of a group of 17 and that if he could get our seats together. Within a few minutes he arranged our 17 seats to be together. Excellent customer service from a polite and helpful young man.

I had a roundtrip to LHR-DMM.
I hate the meal from London to Riyadh, it wasn’t good.
On my way back to London, I had a flight from Jeddah to London Heathrow. My monitor/entertainment screen was broken. It wasn’t working. Gladly, the FA guy transferred me to same comfortable seat but in the middle. That wS totally fine not until i got seated with a boy who’s a son of an Arab rich family, the parents keep on coming back and forth at our area to check on their son. It’s kind of disturbing since we were seated on the emergency exit (huge leg room). So noisy and i could tell that they’re uncomfortable that their son was seated next to an Asian. Nevertheless, i got off from my seat and transferred to previous seat. To my surprise, the Father got up and approached me, asked me if im not coming back to my seat. Oh boy! And since they’re speaking Arab, i couldn’t understand a thing.

Never again Saudi Arabia.
